Getting Divorced
- Change or update your benefits coverage within 31 days. You must remove your former spouse/domestic partner and/or former stepchildren from your medical, dental, and/or vision plan. You can also enroll yourself and your children if you were not previously enrolled.
- Update your supplemental life and AD&D coverage. You can enroll, increase, or decrease.
- Update your life and AD&D insurance beneficiary information.
- Log in to your Fidelity account or call 800-835-5095 to have a representative assist you with your beneficiary changes.
- Update your will or get legal representation for your divorce. MetLife can provide assistance if you are enrolled in the legal plan.
- Update your personal information, if necessary, in Workday or contact AskHR at (408) 717-8398 for assistance. Be sure to update your former spouse/domestic partner’s mailing address in Workday to ensure they receive the COBRA packet.
- Update your direct deposit and/or tax withholding.
- If you’re changing your name, get a new Social Security card.
- Order new business cards and new corporate credit card, if necessary.
- Getting divorced can be an emotional and stressful time. Access free, confidential counseling through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
