For the employee's Dependents:
  • Experiencing a death in the family can be an emotional and stressful time. Access free, confidential counseling through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Learn more about benefit actions you can take in the event of a death.
  • Enroll in COBRA within 60 days to maintain your health coverage. If you are an enrolled dependent on Western Digital’s plan, you will receive a COBRA package within 2-3 weeks.  Email Wex Health or call (866) 451-3399.
  • If you are the beneficiary, submit life insurance claims by visiting Metlife.com/MyBenefits or call (800) 638-6420, then Press 2. Customer Service is open Monday-Thursday, 8am-8pm ET and Friday 8am-5pm ET.
  • Get assistance from MetLife to settle an estate or get funeral assistance.
  • Anthem members can visit Brightline to access virtual behavioral health providers for your child.
  • Kaiser members can access virtual behavioral health resources including Ginger, Calm, and myStrength through the Kaiser Health & Wellness pages for Southern California and Northern California.
  • Contact the Social Security Administration to end benefits received by the deceased (if disabled or retirement eligible) and to determine if benefits are available.
