Frame Your Future

You’ve worked hard to get to where you are — now it’s time to make the most of it. And while you’ve been successful in your career, can you say the same about your understanding of your benefits? Some simple steps can ensure that you optimize and secure your future needs.

Get the most out of your Western Digital benefits

You can learn more about your Western Digital benefits and find tools and resources to help you make the best choices on the Enrollment Information page.

Be sure to designate a beneficiary for your benefits

It is important to designate a beneficiary to receive the life and/or AD&D insurance benefit and your 401(k) retirement plan in the event of your death. As personal circumstances change, be sure to keep that information up to date. Designate or change your beneficiaries during Open Enrollment on Workday.

Reduce your taxable income with the Health Savings Account

With a Health Savings Account, you can set aside tax-free money for health care expenses and reduce your taxable income at the same time. When you enroll in any of the Western Digital medical plans, you have the option to contribute non-taxable dollars to a Health Savings Account (HSA) and increase your savings with Western Digital contributions — $800 for individual coverage or $1,800 for family coverage. You can use your HSA dollars to pay for eligible healthcare expenses or save them for the future. Learn more about the Health Savings Account.

Protect your family and get peace of mind

No one wants to think about it, but are you confident that your family can live comfortably in the event of your death? Western Digital offers supplemental Life and Accident Insurance in addition to basic coverage, which you can purchase at competitive rates, making payments through convenient payroll deductions. You can only enroll for these benefits during Open Enrollment (unless you have a qualifying life event during the year), and Evidence of Insurability may be required. Learn more about Life and AD&D Insurance.

Plan your legacy with help from MetLife Legal

Get convenient legal advice on real estate matters, estate planning, will preparation, wealth protection, charitable giving, and more through the MetLife Legal Plan benefit. This coverage, available to you at a low monthly cost through payroll deductions, gives you access to professional legal services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can only enroll for this benefit during Open Enrollment, so do not wait!

Maximize your retirement strategy

The Western Digital 401(k) Plan puts you in charge of your investment strategy — and you likely have other sources of retirement income to manage, adding up to your future retirement savings. Take the time to see if your current savings and investment strategies are on track to help you achieve your future financial goals. For more information, see the 401(k) Plan page.

Consider if you want to take advantage of Western Digital Voluntary Benefits

The company provides Identity Theft benefits at no cost to you, so if you have not enrolled in this benefit, consider doing so. See Identity Theft Protection to learn how. Open enrollment is also the time to decide if you want to enroll in other voluntary benefits including the legal plan or accident insurance and hospital indemnity insurance.
