You have 31 days from your date of hire to enroll in your Western Digital health and insurance benefits. If you do not make your benefit elections by the deadline, you will automatically be enrolled in the following plans:
IMPORTANT: If you don’t wish to enroll in benefits as a new hire, you do need to waive coverage in Workday within your first 31 days to avoid being automatically enrolled in the above default plans. Because coverage is retroactive to your date of hire, you will be responsible for paying retro or "catch-up" deductions for any missed pay-periods, depending on when you complete enrollment (or are auto-enrolled).
Once your new hire enrollment closes, you may not make changes to your benefit elections unless you experience a qualifying status change, such as a birth, marriage, or gain/loss of other coverage.

You are immediately eligible to enroll on your date of hire. If you don’t take any enrollment action — either enrolling or opting out — within 30 days of becoming eligible, you will be automatically enrolled, and 6% of your eligible pre-tax pay will be invested in the Target Retirement Fund that most closely matches your retirement date, based on an assumed retirement age of 65. You may change your contribution rate and investment elections at any time on Empower Retirement.
