Western Digital is committed to offering you a rewarding career that gives you the opportunity to make valuable contributions toward the achievement of our business objectives.

The following information will help you get acquainted with our company, complete the necessary new hire action steps, and make a great start at Western Digital.

Your new hire checklist

  1. Enroll in health and other insurance benefits
  2. Save for the future

You have 31 days from your date of hire to enroll in your Western Digital health and insurance benefits. If you do not make your benefit elections by the deadline, you will automatically be enrolled in the following plans:

  • Anthem HSA II, employee only
  • Delta Care USA DMO, employee only (Delta Dental PPO Low if Delta Care USA DMO is not available)
  • Employee Basic Life Insurance/Accidental Death & Dismemberment (Company-Paid)
  • Voluntary Disability Insurance (VDI), California employees only
  • Short-Term Disability Plan (STD), employees outside of California
  • Long-Term Disability Plan (LTD), Company Paid

IMPORTANT: If you don’t wish to enroll in benefits as a new hire, you do need to waive coverage in Workday within your first 31 days to avoid being automatically enrolled in the above default plans. Because coverage is retroactive to your date of hire, you will be responsible for paying retro or "catch-up" deductions for any missed pay-periods, depending on when you complete enrollment (or are auto-enrolled).

Once your new hire enrollment closes, you may not make changes to your benefit elections unless you experience a qualifying status change, such as a birth, marriage, or gain/loss of other coverage.
